The Seahawks prepare to launch their 2026 football season at home this Friday, August 14th. The opening whistle blows at 5:00 p.m., when Seward faces off against Kodiak.

Head Coach Tyler Mallory is eager for the new year. “We are excited for this season. We have 23 kids on the roster right now, which is growth from last year. The effort has been outstanding from these young men and we, as coaches, are excited to watch them grow and compete this season. There is nothing better than playing in front of a big home crowd so, Seward, please come out on Friday, August 14th, at 5 p.m. and come cheer these young men on to victory over Kodiak,” Mallory said this week.

The coaching staff, all returning from last year, includes Defensive Coordinator Nick Moseman, Offensive and Defensive Line Coaches Cole Petersen and Erick Lowe, and Linebacker/Running Back Coach Chris Thompson.

This year, the Seahawks have seen their roster swell with new talent and returning leaders. Three seniors, Hunter Price, Jonas Moseman, and Hayden Campbell, as well as quarterback Quinn Humbert, shared their excitement about football and the outlook for the season.

“I love the atmosphere. I love being around the boys because it’s very fun.

I’m very confident in our team. We have a lot of young players, but they all seem to be very energized and ready to go.” -Hunter Price

“I like being active and getting out here, and I think that it is really special that I feel good afterwards. I like hanging out with the people around me. We have a lot of opportunity, and there’s a lot of heart. Once we tap into it, and figure it out, we’re gonna be pretty unstoppable.” -Jonas Moseman

“I like the atmosphere, the guys, getting out on the field and high-fiving. I love the coaches, and most of all, I love the competition. I think we’re gonna be good this year. We lost quite a few seniors, and we lost a lot of leadership with that, but I think we’re starting to build a new family. It’s looking better every day.” -Hayden Campbell

“I like hitting people and the contact. Being around the coaching is awesome; they hype you up, and make you feel good about yourself. It’s just a great time being out here.

We’re starting to get connection and build up a lot, and you can tell. I think the team is gonna do really well.” -Quinn Humbert

Seward fans are encouraged to pack the stands on Friday night. There’s nothing quite like the energy of a hometown crowd to push the Seahawks to victory. So grab your green and gold and get ready for another year of high school football.
