On Wednesday, August 5, the Seward Parks & Recreation Department (SPRD) hosted an awards ceremony for July’s month-long Drive Less, Move More Challenge. In total, there were 15 participants in the biking category and six participants in the walking/running category. Collectively, participants walked or biked more than 2,000 miles during the month of July.

At the awards ceremony, the winners of each category received a $100 gift card to the Seward Outdoor Store. Additionally, three $50 gift cards to the Seward Bike Shop were awarded through a random drawing.

The winners are as follows:

• Biking Category: Kevin R., with a total of 352.6 miles
• Walking/Running Category: Alejandro Perez, with a total of 77.8 miles
• Random Drawing Winners: Ireland Hicks, Jacob Vachowski, and Brenan Hornseth
