Hello neighbors,

The time is almost here.  The election to approve or not the Bylaws for the Bear Creek Community Council is Monday, May 4.  If the Bylaws are approved, then the ballots for the Board of Directors will be counted.  Please vote, let your voice be heard.  Come out and vote any time between 3-7:30 p.m.

Draft Bylaws and candidate photos and statements are in attached PDF files.  The names below were gathered from the Bear Creek Community Council Election-Virtual Town Square Facebook page where candidates posted their intent to run for the board.

Bylaws Vote & Board Election

Date: May 4
Location: Spruce Lodge

Polls open: 3:00 p.m.
Ballots sealed: 7:30 p.m.

There will be two ballots issued at sign-in:

1. Vote to adopt the bylaws (YES or NO)
2. Vote to elect the first 7-member board

Voters will be asked to sign in and show a Bear Creek voter ID or photo ID, which will be verified against the Bear Creek precinct voter rolls. A registrar will also be available for new voters.

Please consider running for the board.  

Terms are for two years, although initially there will be three one-year seats. The board will elect the officers: Chairperson, Vice-chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant at Arms, and two Members at Large.

You must be a registered voter in the Bear Creek voting precinct to be a member of the BCCC and a board member.  Monthly meetings will be held.

The board ballot will contain seven spaces, allowing voters to write in the names of the candidates they wish to elect. Declared candidates will have an area to display their names, and write-in candidates are allowed.

If you are interested in serving on the board, we encourage you to spread the word to your neighbors and encourage them to participate and vote.

Ballots will be counted at the conclusion of voting, and the seven candidates receiving the most votes will be announced.
