• Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the Seward Post Office; determined to be a false alarm.

2/20/26

• Responded to a tree blocking the road near Mile 4 Seward Hwy; hazard cleared.
• Second tree reported down blocking both lanes; road cleared after coordination with DOT.
• Officers secured a downtown business found open after hours.
• Dumpster blown over near Orca Building; moved out of the alley and Alaska Waste contacted for pickup.
• Loose metal noted on the north end of a residential roof; attempted to contact property owner.
• Stop sign blown down by wind was recovered and returned to Public Works.
• Speed warning issued at Seward and Bear.
• Speed warning issued at Third and B.
• Welfare check requested by Seward Safe Harbor; check canceled after contact was made.
• Citation issued to Sarah Thomas at Third and Van Buren for expired registration.
• Report of a female lying on the ground by a power pole before leaving in a white four-door suburban on A Street.
• Stray dog secured at animal shelter.
• Resident reported possible attempted entry after dogs alerted; no suspicious activity found.
