On Monday night, the SeaLife Center was anything but quiet as the Seward Arts Council hosted John Roberts y Pan Blanco. The band’s lively blend of funk, soul, salsa, and jazz quickly had smiles spreading through the room and 82 people out on their feet, dancing together and enjoying the music. This was John Roberts y Pan Blanco’s third trip to Alaska, and they’re heading to Kodiak next, but they’ll remember Seward for its welcoming community and the way everyone embraced the moment, enjoying the movement and giving salsa dancing a try.
