I recently returned from the ICMA Conference in Tampa, where I had the chance to
connect with other city managers and bring back some helpful ideas for our work here at
home. This week, I’m attending the Alaska Legislative Policy Tour to stay engaged in
statewide conversations that impact Seward.
With two weeks of travel this month, my time in town has been focused and full.
Stakeholder interviews with our Fire Department are underway—thank you to those who
have participated so far. There’s still time to sign up and share your perspective. I’ve also
continued meeting with our department directors, which is always a highlight. Their
dedication to serving our community is evident and appreciated.
Halloween was also a joy this year, from the carnival to the steady stream of trick-or-
treaters through City Hall. Thank you to the Seward Chamber of Commerce and everyone
who helped make it such a welcoming celebration.
This edition of the newsletter is focused on the upcoming November 17 City Council
meeting, highlighting what’s on the agenda and how you can stay informed and
involved. I hope you take a moment to review what’s ahead and join us in the
conversation.
See you around town,
Kat
