It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of husband, father, and papa, James Albert Conant. Jim passed on January 4, 2025, at the age of 70 in Mesa, Arizona. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Wanda Conant, and his forever-loved grandson, Jax Kai Thrall.

Jim loved outdoor adventures and sports spectating. Among his favorites were cross-country ski adventures, hunting, camping, boating, and clam digging. He continued to golf and hike daily up to his last days. His favorite activity was cheering on his grandchildren at all their various sporting endeavors.

Jim was known for his exceptional carpentry skills. His work and pieces stand out in many boats, homes, and businesses around Seward. 

Jim is survived and dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Laura, and three siblings, Debbie Owens, Chris Conant, and Pam Curtis. His kids, Teri Haddeland, Amy Harper, Jimmy Conant, and Erin Thrall, and his seven grandchildren, Hana, Ridge, Ryah, Elsie, Belle, Charly, and Cason, will cherish and miss him forever. 

Bonfires by the river with family and friends were Jim’s favorites. His sense of adventure lives in all of us. He will be missed and forever loved.
